hi guys,
We recently purchased an authentic JWT stage 3 ECU on ebay.
Single pop, stock injectors etc...

However its a Cali version. I made a backup of the code with Conzult.
We need to convert it into a Federal version so that my EGR is disabled.
I was told that by using the Fed version and by unplugging my temp sensor connector this should resolve my code 32 check engine light and disable my EGR. I think the EGR valve is stuck closed and I will install a block off plate when upgrading the turbos later on.

Is there a way to simply modify some codes of my current ECU to disable EGR? Or do I really need a whole new code? Please let me know

I really need to figure this out asap
would be great if anyone could give me a hand

thanks
Pat

Hi Pat

Can't help you with the code but you can't unplug the temperature sensor as this will greatly affect the runnig of the car. Everything from the fuel to the electric fan will be affected and it will run like p@@.

Cheers

I was talking about the EG temp sensor.

Only the california model has it. Since the Fed ECU will remove the EGR, I have to disconnect the EG sensor.

You learn something new everyday. I didn't know there was a model with EGT.

Cheers

I don't know what year your car is but after doing a difference search between a 90ttmanfed and a 90ttmancali there are 18 addresses different between them and none of them are in the commonly known maps, most of them look like single constants, or switches in the code. They are as follows (hex)

address FED CALI
6A20 FF 14
6A21 FF 03
6AD0 26 28
6AD5 33 38 (ROM ID)
7EE0 C1 E1
7F03 5C 80
7F09 14 01
7F0C 3D 7A
7F0D 70 E0
7F17 B0 F8
7F18 60 68
7F19 20 A0
7F29 40 32
7F2E 68 C0
7F7A 77 10
F7FB B9 AE
7FBB 48 90
7FCF FF 06

Hope this helps.

I have a 90 TT too.
Would be great if you could email me the bins too so I can compare them.

Also what software do you use to edit the bins?
I heard about Tuner pro, is it worth it?

So far I like Tunerpro, I haven't had the opportunity to emulate with it yet but It has some really handy tools for comparing and modifying bins. It doesn't go as far indepth as some of the consult software, but Mark Mansur says that he is working on an ALDL hookup and realtime trace in version 5 due out by the end of summer. Probably the biggest reason I like it is it's useful on many brands not just nissans.

You are talking about the temp sensors in the cats, correct? JDM models have these too... I removed mine when i got my SZ testpipes.... without modifying the ecu. No noticable problems thus far.

Although i am switching bins to a 93tt fed... from what im reading, the ecu wont even know the sensors are there?
