hi guys
what are the problems im likely to come across, as im currenty designing a drop in replacement AFM for the s13 ca18det and the s14 sr20det that has a flow capacity of around 400 bhp and uses the origanal ca18det AFM sensor itself and housing that has a larger main flow duct but be able to have the same filter flange as the ca18det or sr20det
i wanted to keep the origanal sensor as it doesnt require a new plug and rewiring as when fitting the z32 AFM
i thought as long as i leave port that the sensor sits in the same size as the ca18det or sr20det and enlarge the larger port to the size required for 400ish bhp i know the size will be a trial and error thing that will need a fair bit of dyno time but i cant really see any other problems apart from machining of the new AFM body and the mapping required at every change in the port size.
am i right in assumming i would just have to change the base multiplyer for the fuel map and then just trim as required for the AFM change and do the same for 440cc or 550cc injectors depending bhp required
also i cant get romeditor to work ive followed all your instructions and its still playing up and is very unstable so ive downloaded liveedit from and it far easier and does lawrence still use this board as i would be very interested buying the full software from him.
thanks in advance guys |

| Mate, I don't even think a stock ca18det afm would handle 400 hp. It would prob max out at less than 300 bhp atw. z32 afm's come fairly cheap, and it's easy to find info on the net about rewiring the ca18det loom onto the z32 plug. |
