|
|
| I'm using the amtel 29c256 chip in my z31. The stock chip is a 27c128. So anyway I have space to hold a second copy of the bin. Someone mentioned that by jumping a pin or something I could get the ecu to read from different addresses. Can anyone give me some specific information on how to do this. If I could run a small switch up my my radio and have it switch between a street tune and a race tune on the fly that would be really cool. Thanks |

| yes, there is jumper wich you can run it to your toglle switch but I saw that on Z32 ecu. The one that JWT makes for NOS upgrade. How ever the eprom is quite different, it looks like a small daughterboard. |

What you need to do is find the MSB on the address lines (the highest numbered Axx pin) then connect a switch that switches this between +ve and -ve.
Probably best to bend it up out of the socket first as the ECU might be pulling it one way. |

| John, did what you said. I tried reading it on my programmer and when I read it as the normal chip (29c256) it works and switches the two bins. When I switch the reader to read 27c128 (the original ecus rom) the first 64 bytes are set to FF on both bins. It still switches correctly but the first couple of lines are screwed up. Any ideas? I might try shorter wires. The max address pin is pin 27 (a14). Ive got the other switch connections on (vcc) pin 28 and (ground)pin 14, |

| Got it working. It was good all along. I dont know why it doesnt read right in the programmer but it works just fine on the ecu. I'm thinking about incorporating a full throttle switch along with a manual switch. Thoughts? |
