what are you using for a base rom file?
I had trouble at first becuase i was unkowingly using a rom file from a different ECU, once i sourced the correct rom fie the car started up. It didnt run very well at first, but I was able to adjust the fuel settings once I established that the car functioned. My car has an external coil and the cam position sensor is housed in the distributor. What do you have for injectors and MAF? are they still stock.

I took the base rom from the B13 GTI SR20DE ECU, same as the N14 GTI
(JECS: B13 GTI = 23710 xxx05 / N14 GTI = 23710-xxx00 don`t know exactly atm as i`m at work )
I can only test the ecu in my room as i have no running SR20DE car at the moment here
The Injectors and MAF of my GA16DE are stock ...

Yes, ì`m using slipnfall`s USB Consult interface, downloading the rom with CALUMsult
To view the files i`m using romscan, to compare them i`m using nwdiff.
The one guy is Calum

I have chiped n n14 sr20de without prob.
the daughterboard worked (s13 sr20board)
if you want the bin, no prob.
did the car run at all with this setup?
Because the p11 from dan got the same codes (not the knock one) with a p10 ecu. the only difference is the internal/external coil between P11/P10.
and normally n14/b13/p10/s13 boards have to be burned both roms with whole data. an offset (or doubled bin) just have to be used if the eprom is bigger than the rom file. |

Hmm as i already thought the euro GA ecu is very different, i now have som pic`s of a australian GA16DE ECU : AUS GA16DE ECU front / AUS GA16DE ECU back
So it seem that this ecu is probably compatible with the SR20DE daughterboard ...
compared to my ecu : Euro GA16DE ECU front
maybe Calum can say something about it

| The aus ecu looks very close to the US GA16DE (B13). The euro one doesn't. I've never seen the euro ecu before. The aus will not take a S13 (SR20DE) DB, it needs a special board. |

so at last i`m coming to the conclusion that the euro GA16DE engine will never run with a (modified) SR20DE engine ecu
