I happen to have a genuine mines ecu, which makes a very big difference even in stock boost i can say. Do u think it would be possible to copy its eprom? I suppose these brands take their measures on that, are they, with some kind of protection? If possible, i d like to try copying it to a stock ecu that i also have (code 70, mec-d007). Any thoughts on that?

you should be able to do that pretty easily!

the hard part, will be getting the mines EPROM out of the ECU, as they cover it in a big glob of glue ( this is thier security measure ).
from there, it will be just like any other EPROM swap.

Id love to check out the tune if you were to get it out.

Whatever you do- DO NOT try to get the chip out of the ECU!!!! You will destroy it.

Anyone who has seen a Mines instal will know its a no go. The glue is a very hard resin style adhesive that is rock hard. You would need to use excessive force to chip it away, or cut it away with a Dremel. With either of these methods chip and board damage is inevitable!

You need a ROMULATOR to read the data live and then copy it off. No problems...

Thanx for the tips guys..Maybe i shouldnt bother at all, because destroying it is the last thing i wanna do, but it would be quite interesting to see how these guys do their job Very Happy . I ll keep u informed if there is any progress on that Wink .

p.s.The only thing i cant get with the mines setup is the rev limiter which is set to 8200rpm. This is quite pointless, because the ecu is supposed to be made for a pretty stock CA18DET, so whats the point in revving it THAT much -with a T25?

I have seen some tuning houses offerings for a say stage 3 GTR (550 injectors, GT2860's etc) with a 12000 rev limit Shocked

on a ca - probably because they run an aftermarket rev limiter as the factory one is totally unsuitable for drifting with the cut it gives on limiter....

I have tried Acetone on Mine's SR20DET ECU, It did not work, the glue cannot be removed, I have tried using a hair dryer to heat up the glue and remove it , it works but the rom is too hot , it was dead, all data lost !
You better using small wire to weld, connect to the pin to a socket, plug the socket into the rom reader....good luck !
And if you success, please don't forget to send me the rom file, thank in advance (^_^) .
