I have some questions about making your own consult cable.
The most important is something that comes from the pgmfi forum. It seems one of the members there found that the phone cable for the nokia phones had a built in RS232 converter in it. Its the DKU5 cable.
So he was able to make the cable work to talk to the honda ECU. I am not sure if the output signals from the hondas are the same as what is coming from the consult conector though, so I figured I would see if anyone here has already looked at using this cable?

It looks like the chip inside is a prolific pl2303.
Any info you guys can provide would be great on this. I actually have built these cable for my old honduh. And I have one lying around I can try on my Skyline. But I dont have a regular consult cable yet, so I am not even sure if I have the calumsult software setup correct, or how to use it in the first place. |
