Check the intake pipe under the intake plenum, 8 port will have a 2 inch thick adapter to dived 4 port to 8 port. _________________ Louis

Are you sure this is a non-cat ecu?? This ecu has a p/n of 23710-36F00 which means lambda/cat version. I don't think there is a non-cat jdm ecu .
p.s.MEC-D007, which is cat, has also a p/n of 23710-39F00. _________________ JDM CA18DET

I'm using non cat JDM ecu and 8 port intake JDM CA18DET engine, as I remember, my ECU p/n is 23710-36F00. _________________ Louis

So there is a jdm CA18DET with no lambda sensor? Or does it have one but it is just unplugged?
Quite strange, because i do have the MEC-D007 ecu, which is euro and cat, and my engine has a sensor. Its part number is also 23710-39F00 . _________________ JDM CA18DET |

I think so.
I have been using two CA18DET engine,
the one come with my car is Hong Kong version 4 port intake,
no sensor, the ECU come with my car is 44F10, but after I have installed wide band O2 sensor, the A/F reading always stay at 12:1,
after I have changed to a JDM tuned rom file, the A/F still the same,
so I change to 36F05 ECU, and using the same rom file,
the A/F is close to 14.7:1
The ECU p/n should be 36F05,
I have confirm the ECU p/n from the following page before I bid it from Japan.
http://www.grid.co.jp/ecu_data.htm
I belive 36FXX is non lamda and 39FXX is lamda. _________________ Louis

I used to have a jdm ECU which was MEC-D016 (code 78 ) and it had a part number of 23710-36F05. MEC-D016 is a cat version for sure.
39XXX are euro ecus and cat (with a lambda sensor), this is what i currently have (code 70, mec-d007) and runs perfectly on a jdm engine with a lambda sensor.
Pretty confused about the mec-d003 ecu , the part number shows that it is a cat ecu, but it is found on non-cat engines..Anyway, i ll make a search to figure this out . If i find any further info i ll post them up . _________________ JDM CA18DET |

What a mixture there
So :
36Fxx = Jap / non-cat
39Fxx = Euro / cat
44Fxx = Euro / non-cat
xxF1x = automatic gearbox
xxF0x = manual gearbox
Ok like that ?  _________________ 200SX RS13 Zenki (w. CA18DET)

This is what i m not sure about, all jdm ecus that i 've come across have 36FXX p/n, and not all of them are non-cat! In fact, to be honest, i thought that all jdm ca18 ecus were cat (havent really seen a non-cat jdm version myself), until i read a related thread here.For example mec-d016 is a later jdm ca18det ecu with cat, and its p/n is 36FXX. Earlier ecus, like the mec-d003 also have 36Fxx p/n, but i m not sure if they are cat or not. I think that 36FXX may stand for just JDM version.
Anyway, i m about to have one (mec-d003) so i ll try it on. _________________ JDM CA18DET |

For 36Fxx : possible but not logical. Who know .....
For the stock bin MEC-D003, look at top of page : I have posted it
If you have other jap bin (also stock of course) it wouldbe great to send them please _________________ 200SX RS13 Zenki (w. CA18DET)

| I have a quick question,I am a total noob and I have just bought a 240 with a ca18det and a chipped ecu.I'm not sure how to tune the ecu but I'm pretty sure that the guy that owned it before me had tried and has now messed something up.I want to go back to a stock setting for now until I learn the basics,but what I have found out is that the ecu is a MEC-D017(AT).First I have not been able to find any stock files for this ecu.Second could I use the above file for MEC-D003 instead.Sorry if I'm thread jacking I just did not want to start a new thread for this because I thought it was a some what related. |
