|
|
Hey guys. I was trying to port the maps and info I need from the RB25 bin over to an RB20 bin so that I can use the tuneable RB20 ecu to run an RB25 in an R32 skyline.
The problem I am having is a HUGE bogging issue at about 4000 rpm. At first I thought it was just the map was off. But changing the map around and richening it it brings up my AFR, but does not stop the bogging.
I have some other peoples "base" bin files, but they wont even start the car. And I am not totally sure I trust what they have done.
If someone wants to look at what I started with you can have a look. I will post the bin below. If you can take my bin and make it run then great. If someone has one already they dont mind sharing thats great too.
If someone knows WHAT I need to do to get this to go, then share it and I can do the work myself.
Background: I did ALL the copy paste work in Rom Editor. Once complete I opened the tune up in Liveedit using the RB20 address files. I then changed the injector size and the MAF to the correct ones for the RB25. That is the point that this tune is at. No tuning at all has taken place on the maps themselves.
Please help

Looking through your bin file, the thing that stands out is NO dwell duty cycle, zero nada zip. That seems weird to me. I'm surprised it even started.
Try this one. its yours with dwell duty cycle added.

hmmmm,
thats weird. I will give that a try. I just compared it to the stock bin that I started with and the data was there. So I guess I must have zeroed that all out. Thank you for catching that, hopefully it does the trick for me. I will come back with feedback on it in a few days. |

So, the result was the same as before. It still hits a wall at around 3700 rpm. It will eventually pop and fart and hiss its way to around 5500 rpm, at that point it smooths out again, but not enough to be drive able at all.
I am going to look back over it. But if anyone can see anything at all then let me know. I thought it may be something with the injector sizing. But I cant see how it would idle so smooth and have a sizing issue with the injectors. And, also since I can get it running MUCH richer and STILL have the problem I think its something that was not ported over properly. I may have to go back to the drawing board on the port.
But, if anyone has any tips or one already ready I would love to have a look at least. |

put a wideband on it and tell us what it is doing when its popping and farting
without information - you will not cure the issue unless you strike it lucky...
chances are its running lean as buggery.... |

at first it was running lean, but not any more lean than a stock rb25 ecu does. We ran a trace on it with the stock ecy first.
I then richened it up on the maps to see if that helped. It ran richer, but still popped and farted. Nothing with the maps seemed to change anything. Which is why I am thinking its a setup problem with the port over.
Technically speaking, if the maps from the RB25 are copied straight across the car should have the same AFR as the stock RB25 ecu. But I did think the same as you at first. |

put the rb20det tp scale back into the fuel and ignition maps and see what difference it makes
i have seen that a screwed up tp scale can make huge bogging on gear changes etc....
if your trying things to see what happens - give this a go.... you may be suprised... |
