Did at one time, if you PM me you're email address, I'll send it to you, or if anyone wants to host it.
Never quite got it finished off yet, as I'm going after market and VH45DE now, but it does work, just not got all the misc tables in there yet. All the important stuff is there though. |

Hi Z90...lots of useful information here. Well done, and thank you.
The blazt cable website has been shifted, updated and can be found here www.blazt.biz _________________ Alternative ECU cable: www.blazt.biz |

Do any of the free program guys want to make their code open-source? I'd quite like to do the odd bit to help but don't fancy starting my own project from scratch.

I am thinking about putting Palm Z out Open source. I dont have the time to work on it very much any more. I closed my web site, sense I have recently begun programming in aspx, and my old host didnt support it. I will probably get a new one in a few weeks. Perhaps I will do some open source stuff from there. The only problem is. How do you stop some one from making money off your ideas, or code? _________________ I am the sum of my actions |

Mine is open source. The code on the site is quite old though, I need to put the new version up. Not that it would do much good though, the odds of someone else writing software in LabView are slim to none. |

Its difficult to stop it, but if its published and really out in the open - sourceforge download public website etc then people trying to sell it will have to compete with us giving it away.
People are going to make money using these tools as proportionally there are very few people who are technically capable. |

Here is an off the wall question.
if my K value is 228 is the correct for 555cc injectors
I was under the impression that it should be lower _________________ I am the sum of my actions |

Mezafits, does your palm software need any special hardware, or does a standard interface cable and USB adapter do? _________________ Alternative ECU cable: www.blazt.biz |

I'll try to keep the first post up to date with all software available (or in process). Whether or not it is useful is up to the enduser Thanks for pointing out Mapedit, I'll add that to the list.
TunerPro config file
I spent some time last night playing with TunerPro, Zcontrol, and LiveEdit and put together a config file. If you use this I would suggest comparing it to the output in Zcontrol since that's where most of the info comes from. Zcontrol has a cleaner interface but the rpm scales are not editable and you can't change the closed-loop vs. open-loop characteristic of the cells on the maps. Also TunerPro has the potential for real-time tuning using TunerProRT and an emulator. For now this is untested and not much more than just a personal exercise learning my way thru the bin file and developing the config file. My TunerPro config file is attached.
I found a few limitations with TunerPro, for instance the data manipulation options are quite limited. I can multiply or divide by a scalar, but I can't do more complicated math like is required to convert the fuel map to AFR (so it's easier to understand). Also the axes labels are very limited. For instance it would be nice to display the rpm scale on each of the maps like Zcontrol does, but I can't (I wasn't able to figure out how to do that anyway). So it's not as "full featured" as I had hoped, which corresponds to darkhalf's comments. Finally the VQ data doesn't show up correctly in TunerPro for some reason. Sometimes it gives me an error, other times it shows correctly after I try to graph it. It seems most don't change anything in there anyway, so perhaps I should just remove it. I left it in there for now in hope that someone else can figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Documentation discrepancies
I did however note a few discrepancies among the available knowledge when generating the config file:- The Ztechz tuning docs state that the "Ignition Coil Dwell Duty" is at 7B60. In Zcontrol, the data at 7B60 is called "Ignition Coil Charge" in miliseconds. Zcontrol displays the "Ignition Coil Dwell Duty" as a percentage, but I was unable to determine where it is collecting this data. What is correct?
- The Dwell Duty Angle, according to Zcontrol, is found at 7B50 (although those numbers make no sense to me, but that's another discussion). This data is not mentioned in the Ztechz docs. Is it correct?
- Eric's tool, the Rom-Rescaler, modifies data found at 7E20 which I interpretted as the Water Warmup map (not found in Zcontrol or LiveEdit). The Ztech revision 1 document mentions that what was thought to be the Water Warmup map (7B30) was incorrect, but doesn't list the correct location. Is 7E20 the correct location for this map?
- Luk recently posted a Z32 config file for LiveEdit (found here) which includes an entry for the Accelerator Pump at 7200, however this is also (supposedly) the beginning of the 5th Gear Knock Fuel Map (according to both Zcontrol, the Ztechz docs, and even his own LiveEdit config). Which is correct?
I'm going to start another thread to summarize the location of known data so I would like to clarify these questions. Either here or in that thread works for me |

- PLMS Developments - Australia, $100 (AUS) for the cable. Schematic available if you want to build your own.
- Blazt - $71 for the cable
- Atek - $19 for the cable according to their Yahoo Store. Is this correct? Seems out of line with the typical market price? May or may not include the necessary electronics (see Blazt link or the DIY link below for a good view of the required electronics)?

I'm pretty sure this is a cable only - no electronics - quote from their site: "OBD-II male pins 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 14, 15, 16 connected to DB9 pins 7, 2, 1, 3, 4, 6, 5, 8, 9 respectively". _________________ 1991 SR20DET 180SX

ZCarJase, Yea! it does need special hardware. in a sence. As far as I know my sony clie is the same as similar models PDA running the Palm OS. My Sony Clie required a special cable to interface with an RS232 signal. the Hardware , "which i got from Zcontrol.net" interfaced with the RS232 cable , then the cable interfaced with the pda. Basicly its just the same cable used to connect to a GPS unit. however it did cost 80 dollars.
PDA -> RS232 cable -> Zcontrol hardware -> 300zx _________________ I am the sum of my actions |

|
|
Hi All,
If you don't mind, I'd like to offer you another one.
ftp://cefiroauto:cefiroauto@ftp.parfum.nov.net/DDLReader.exe
Current version is 1.0.0.14
This diagnostic software have been developed by me and it's free. It's PC-based software and have been tested on Windows 98/2000/XP and included two modules: ECU and TCM (AT). SRS is in development stage.
I supposed that it would work on every Nissan with Consult connector, and it is, in most cases . But it doesn't work partly on some new (after ~1999) and exclusive vehicles, but I'm working on it.
There is a demo of new version. It doesn't work with vehicles at all, just shows programm features.
ftp://cefiroauto:cefiroauto@ftp.parfum.nov.net/DDLReader_Demo.exe
Current version is 1.0.2.26
It is still in development. There are some screenshots of it. It almost looks like a first release with small differences outside, but huge changes inside.
Any wishes are welcome .
With best regards,
Vladimir Belozertcev |
