you should be able to get the car to run on larger injectors with just a k value change
fine tweakery with the nul and volt compensation should make the car drive like factory with the same load scales etc but with larger injectors

afm swaps are just the vq map and k value

lots of tweakery reqired to fuel maps to make it right eg large jumps to get the fueling right so your map looks like a bunch of different height cubes and your afm is possibly wrong in the rom vs the car

*shrug*

these days with most of the nissans being old - that get chipped - the most problems ive had recently with tuning is the damn wiring looms being all screwed up - ground faults - bad sensors etc etc etc.. Spend more time fixing those problems than tuning the damn cars

also - an afm in the intercooler pipework will read to less tp than an afm before the turbo....
where is the afm located?

Yes Smile

Nistune will let you do everything you want "properly" compared to liveedit....

Much better than liveedit - use it - its worth the money Smile

Oohhh - they go well with those turbos Smile Hope your gearbox is up to it Smile

Sorry - not sure about the duty to the uk Neutral

Adjust K value and vq map for afm
adjust null value to affect idle
adjust volt calibration to affect how the fuel goes as the revs goes up

set k value when the engine is under load until you get afr matching your fuel map calculated afr
set null value when idling with a good o2 sensor NOT in the tailpipe to get your idle afr to match the calculated fuel map
tweak nul value and volt calibration value to get the real world afr to match the calculated afr on the fuel tables

enjoy easy tuning after that

use something OTHER than liveedit for this - you will have a LOT easier time of things - liveedit was particularly bad at changing airflow meters and injectors due to how it worked with the config files...

Check nistune out - should keep you happy Smile

Bite the bullet and get yourself a copy of Nistune - it was written to work with the PLMS stuff and you'll be happier with that than liveedit - by a long shot...

Liveedit is an outdated - confusing - illogical program to use...
I'm allowed to bag it - I wrote it Smile

Go buy nistune Smile

probably has an incorrect ini file pointing to something that doesnt exist anymore....

check the ini files and make sure they point to things that actually exist....

you should really look at using something more modern - that is a very limited and old program....

I'm allowed to bag it - i wrote it Smile

check out www.nistune.com - much better software - much more fun to play with .....

The sites still exist on the machine - but the machine doesn't want to pass the web requests through to the domains since the web hosts moved to a new machine - *sighs* Oh well Smile

Plan is so far as I know to get them both going again somehow somewhere when time permits - and when it appears there should be an interesting download for freebies available...

anyways.... back to obscurity and laptop rebuilding again for a bit Smile

put the rb20det tp scale back into the fuel and ignition maps and see what difference it makes
i have seen that a screwed up tp scale can make huge bogging on gear changes etc....
if your trying things to see what happens - give this a go.... you may be suprised...

put a wideband on it and tell us what it is doing when its popping and farting

without information - you will not cure the issue unless you strike it lucky...

chances are its running lean as buggery....

nope - cant use fuel maps from the s13 ecu in the exa ecu - different K values so the maps wont work...

If your going to chip the exa ecu - the eprom will have to come out of it then
if your going to be modifying the eprom - you will have an eprom writer
if you have a writer - by default it is a reader

read the factory exa ecu chip when you pull it out of the old ecu Smile

And you wouldnt want the timing maps to be used from the eca ecu - its for a higher compression engine than a turbo - and it wouldnt be a long term result if you just ran factory NA timing maps on a turbo engine....

have fun with the project - sorry - i dont have the standard rom file anymore...

You must rewire the loom if you want to run a ca18det ecu on the car - been there - done that - even had it running of an s13 sr20det ecu as well for a laugh

you cant run a ca18det rom in the exa ca18 ecu

I had a wiring diagram and pinout for the ecu's

you could chip the early model ecu - but its worth upgrading to a later model ecu - they are faster - better fuel control and have more features...

have fun

Yup - they let slip one day on the phone they were waiting for boards to arrive from japan and then freaked out that they slipped that one out Smile

they are also developing themselves boards for the 2jzgte supra engine - weird things - needs an eprom for the fueling and another for the ignition...

very cool engine that - even tho i love nissans - that particular engine is just a farkin beast Smile

best1tuning makes and distributes rb25det daughterboards that take an eprom.....

pretty expensive tho... would be good for a workshop to own one and then use it to tune customer cars and burn one time chips for them Smile

$800us for a chipped ecu....
where you supply shipping and an ecu and get back a chipped ecu Smile
